A beautifully designed cast iron heavy book ends with a crowing rooster with the sun rising behind him. The book ends have the original paint. They are most likely made by Hubley and a product of the 1930s. They are 5 1/6 inches high, 2 7/8 inches wide and 2 7/8 inches deep. They do have some chipping to the paint especially on the high points and edges (see pics). There are also a few pencil marks on the stepped base. They could use a cleaning. They are not signed. A very interesting pair of bookends.
