ROMEO AND JULIET STAFFORDSHIRE CHILD'S PLATE

This is a lovely child's Staffordshire pink transfer plate. The central scene reminds one of Shakesphere's "ROMEO AND JULIET." The plate is 5 3/4 inches in diameter. The boarder consists of fern fronds and flowers with pink transfer scene in the center. The plate is unmarked as to maker but is from the Staffordshire District in England and made in the first part of the 19th Century. The plate is in excellent condition and is free of chips, cracks or nicks. There is no staining, discoloration or knife marks. There is a faint hint of minor crazing. This is a beautiful child's plate.
