An attractive ironstone decorated transferware plate in the popular "INDIA" pattern. Introduced in 1870 by Ashworth Brothers, the pattern was originally made by Mason. The plate is about 10 31/6 inches in diameter. The central scene has Oriental buildings with boats and islands. This India plate is decorated in a black transfer with red and orange highlights. The plate is marked with the Mason crown mark and impressed ASHWORTH 11. It is in excellent condition free of chips, cracks and nicks. Also, there is no staining or crazing.
