This is a very nice green transfer Staffordshire child's plate in the "HOP PICKING" pattern. Made in the first part of the 19th Century, the plate is 6 3/4 inches in diameter. The center has a scene of a five girls and women picking Hops for harvest. The boarder design is raised daisies. The plate is in excellent condition and is free of chips, cracks or nicks. There is no discoloration or stains. The transfer is crisp and the color is good. There is a faint hint of minute crazing. The maker is unknown as the plate is unmarked. This is a wonderful child's plate in an interesting pattern.
