AFRICAN WARRIORS RED TRANSFERWARE PLATE

A beautiful red transferware plate that we call "AFRICAN or ETHIOPIAN WARRIORS." The pattern is unmarked but has been attributed to Adams & Sons and made in the 1820s. The plate has a central theme of two ethnically dressed warriors standing outside a temple. The fancy boarder has large bouquets with Eastern temples between them. It is 10 1/2 inches in diameter and in excellent condition free of chips, cracks or nicks.
