An extremely rare flint champagne or ice bucket in the early "WAFFLE AND THUMBPRINT" pattern. The champagne bucket was made by the New England Glass Company about 1860. This is a very rare piece of glass and we have only documented five known examples. The bucket is 8 7/8 inches high and 7 1/4 inches in diameter. This piece is from the same mold used to make the large 1/2 gallon water pitcher. Large beautiful polished pontil on the extra glob of glass left by the pontil rod. The bucket is in excellent condition and is free of chips, cracks or nicks. The rim has been polished and looks to be factory done. This is a great rarity in EAPG and a welcomed addition to any collection.
