An unusual clear etched salt shaker in the "SUNKEN TEARDROP" pattern. Made by Richards & Hartley Glass Company in 1875, the shaker was also possibly made by the O'Hara Glass Company and was known as No.50. The salt shaker has the early pewter six pointed star lid and is 3 1/8 inches high. It is in excellent condition free of chips and cracks. there is minor flaking under the screw lid and also an annealing line on one side. A very nice early salt shaker with unusual fern etching.
