STIPPLED CHAIN CAKE STAND BY GILLINDER c.1880

An unusual clear cake stand in the seldom found "STIPPLED CHAIN" pattern. Made in 1880 by Gillinder & Sons. The cake stand is made from the compote and has been flattened out. A waver has been used to attach the plate to the standard. It is 10 1/2 inches in diameter and 5 3/4 inches high. It is in excellent condition free of chips, cracks and nicks. The plate portion has some minor annealing lines but no knife marks. This is the first cake stand we have seen in this pattern.
