Pattern 45D (Six Panel Finecut) on left and Pattern #43D (Unnamed) on right c.1890 |
A very lovely amber stained and etched celery vase in the popular and very stately "SIX PANEL FINECUT" pattern. Made about 1890 by the Dalzell, Gilmore & Leighton Company of Findlay, Ohio. We believe that this maybe pattern #45D that was advertised but not shown. Six Panel Finecut is an extensive line that includes stand and finger lamps. The celery vase is about 6 7/8 inches high and about 3 7/8 inches in diameter. The panels are amber stained and the body is etched with three large leaves and a blossom. We have only seen this etching on Six Panel Finecut and one other pattern which we believe is #43D. Sometimes this etching has amber staining in the leaves and blossom. Glass is in excellent condition free of chips or cracks. There are a few rough points on the finecut pattern from being knocked about in a cupboard. The glass is clear and not sick, cloudy, discolored or have chemical deposits. A very nice clear with amber stain etched celery vase.
