Unusual pickle jar in the clear with frosted panels "RIBBON" pattern. Introduced in 1870 by Bakewell, Pears & Company of Pittsburgh, PA. The jar is clear with alternating frosted panels. The frosting was machine done and rough to the touch as it should be in this pattern. The jar does not have its lid. It is about 4 inches high and has a top diameter of 3 1/4 inches and the base is slightly larger with a diameter of 3 1/2 inches. The jar is in excellent condition and is free of chips or cracks. There are however three flat flakes on the lower base on the clear short panels. These are very minor. The glass is clear and is not sick, cloudy, discolored or have chemical deposits. A great jar to put in a frame or add a lid and use as is. A scarce item in the pattern.
$ 25.00
