A very nice clear etched covered butter dish in the highly desirable "MASCOTTE" pattern. Introduced in 1874 by Ripley & Co. of Pittsburgh, PA. The covered butter has an etching of ferns on the lid. It is about 5 7/8 inches high to top of finial and about 7 3/4 inches in diameter. The covered butter is in excellent condition free of chips, cracks or nicks. The glass is clear and not sick, cloudy, discolored or have chemical deposits. A wonderful covered butter dish in a very popular pattern.
