A very nice clear covered footed butter dish in the popular "GRAPE BAND" pattern. Introduced in 1869 by Bryce, Walker & Company. The footed butter is 6 1/4 inches high to top of finial, 6 inches in diameter and the foot is 3 3/4 inches in diameter. The lid has an egg and dart boarder. The finial is different in that it has a bunch of grapes raised on the top. . It is in excellent condition free of chips or cracks. There is however a few no harm and teeny inner rim flea bites or nips on the base. The glass is clear and not sick, cloudy, discolored or have chemical deposits. This seldom encountered butter dish is the first we have seen in 35+ years. A great scarce covered butter from the Victorian Era.
