A wonderful and very rare covered cheese dish in the ever-popular and difficult to find "CABBAGE LEAF" pattern. Made by the Riverside Glass Works of Wellsburg, West Virginia in 1883. The cheese dish plate depicts some open cabbage leaves and a profile of a rabbit. The plate is 9 1/4 inches in diameter. The lid has a winged design on the finial and depicts three rabbit profiles and open cabbage leaves. The lid is about 5 5/8 inches high and 6 1/4 inches in diameter. The covered cheese is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. There is a small shallow flake on the tip of one of the wings on the finial. This is a wonderful and very rare item.
