Wonderful early 19th Century Sheraton Country grain painted plantation desk in wonderful condition. This impressive desk has monumental reverse painted glass 16 lite door. The desk is 89 inches high, 36 1/2 inches wide at the cornice, 25 inches deep the table portion and the case is 11 1/2 inches deep. Marked on back "George McKonkle - Haverford, Delaware County, Philadelphia." Haverford is just south west of Philadelphia near the Delaware boarder. The case is in a rosewood-style grain painting. The reverse painted glass is on a white background with gold and black neo-classical designs with the paint showing some minor wear from years of use. There is no restoration or inpainting and all glass is in excellent condition while the small drawer in the interior of the desk needs some minor repair.
