PETER HERMANN SIGNED ONE GALLON CROCK c.1860s

A very nice signed Baltimore stoneware crock by Peter Hermann and made about 1860. This is a one gallon storage jar or crock. It has a brushed stroke decoration of three sets of stylized draped leaves. The crock is 10 1/2 inches high and 6 1/4 inches in diameter. It is signed in a circular stamp "P. HERMANN 1 G." It is in very nice condition being free of chips and cracks. There are about 6-7 small outer rim flakes. and 3 inner rim flakes. there is also a tiny crazing line on rim. A very nice crock in good condition having a nice surface and color.
