This wonderful early one drawer New England pine blanket chest has been cleaned back to the original old red stain and wash. Constructed with rose head nails, it retains its original snipe hinges and till and its lid has an applied molding on three sides. The chest is 45 1/2 inches wide, 32 inches high and 18 inches deep. Its back has one very large board that is 20 1/4 inches high and the smaller one is 4 3/8 inches high and its drawer is dovetailed. In good condition with a minor repair to one drawer side, the drawer pulls and escutcheon are newer replacements. Chest dates to the mid 18th century.
