This is a very sturdy late 19th C. ash splint gathering or field basket. It is well made and has two woven handles. The basket is 24 3/4 inches in diameter and about 15 inches high. It is in excellent condition with minimal wear. The wrap a double x and is complete on the rim and is not broken. Note both the interior raised base and bottom construction. There is one small tiny break near base on this quality basket. A very nice sturdy basket that looks great on top of a cupboard or hanging from a trammel rod.
