A wonderful early 19th Century Hogscraper candlestick with thumb hook. The tin and steel hogscraper is about 6 5/8 inches high and has a base diameter of 3 7/8 inches. The stick still retains its original thumb hook which is great for hanging these sticks on the back of ladderback chairs. The push-up screw works fine and turns to lock candle at its desired height. Stick is in excellent condition retaining a nice patina and surface. The plinth that the tube rests on has a small piece that is missing (see PIC#1). The base has a slight wobble but if placed on a doiley or a nice piece of homespun the stick does not move.
