An attractive red and mustard painted child's blanket chest from Franklin County, Pennsylvania. This wonderful chest made about 1865 has its original paint and feet. The diminutive chest is 25 1/4 inches wide, 14 1/2 inches high and 12 1/2 inches deep. It is of a basic six board construction with applied moldings and small turned feet. The chest has its original till and hinges, although the lock is missing. Very clean and with a great surface, this folky blanket chest was found in the Chambersburg area in Franklin County.
