A wonderful early Folk Art carved Dancing Dan figure. Most like made about 1890-1910 era. Dancing Dan is fully jointed at the shoulder, hips, knees and ankles. He wears a cap and has copper brad buttons on his chest. The figure is about 9 3/4 inches long and 2 3/8 inches wide. His large shoes are about 2 inches long and 1 inch high. He is in excellent condition but is missing his original rod on his back. There are a few nips and chips in this early carving such as a teeny flaw on his lower lip, a chip out of the brim of the cap and a chip on his right shoe ankle. Wonderful color and surface patina. He is out of the late Don Upchurch collection from Tennessee. A very nice folk art carving. The stand is included.
