Wonderful fashion print titled "THE BLOOMER COSTUME." Printed by N. Currier in 1851. The print in frame measures 15 5/8 inches high and 11 5/8 inches wide. The visible portion measures 13 11/16 inches high and 9 5/8 inches wide. The glass is early with lots of waves and a few bubbles including one large one. The print is in nice condition but does have foxing and one small water stain in lower left boarder. There is a 1/2 inch tear at the top in the boarder straight up from her far right hat rim. There are also a few creases in the paper. Frame is typical mid Victorian decorated plaster. A few scuffs from age but in very nice hanging condition. The original wooden backboard has split from age and shrinkage and has replaced nails holing it into the frame. A very attractive N. Currier in period frame and glass.
