A very nice 19th Century calligraphy of a bird in nest and butterfly. The ink drawing has been framed in an early classical ogee mahogany veneer on pine period frame. The overall size is 12 3/8 inches by 10 3/8 inches. The calligraphy is about 9 1/3 inches by 7 1/4 inches. The butterfly is done on early graph paper and is pasted to the bird on nest and is 2 1/4 inches by 2 inches. The calligraphy has been placed on top of a piece of black paper. The drawing is slightly off when it was cut. The frame has a replaced glass and the back is a piece of cardboard. The early frame is in its original finish and could use some polishing if desired. This is a wonderful folky ink drawing.
