This is a very nice hand painted wall paper box with wooden base made in the early 19th Century. The box has a stylized acanthus leaf shell and scroll design. The boarder is a picket fence design. The paper is painted in blue on a gray background. The paper was originally a salmon color but has faded to gray. The bright salmon color can be seen under the rim of the lid. The box is 4 3/4 inches high, 9 7/8 inches long and 7 7/8 inches wide. The paper is very nice with some water staining. There is some minor paper loss on the picket fence boarder on the lid rim. The box is cardboard with a pine wooden base. A very nice smaller sized wallpaper box in above average condition. Box is very strong and is perfect for stacking.
